Anthony Shakir, born in 1966, is an American techno producer and DJ from Detroit. He began producing music in 1981 and worked with notable Detroit musicians such as Derrick May and Carl Craig on their early Metroplex albums. Shakir's breakthrough came with his appearance under the name Sequence 10 on the compilation Techno! The New Dance Sound of Detroit by Virgin Records. Unlike many of his peers who sought recognition in Europe, Shakir remained focused on the Detroit techno scene. In 1995, he founded the label Frictional and, in 1996, established Puzzlebox with Keith Tucker. Notable works include remixes for Telex and Inner City, as well as co-producing The Collapse of Modern Culture by Urban Tribe for Mo Wax in 1998. Shakir's releases include Mr. Shakir's Beat Store (2000) and the compilation Frictionalism 1994-2009 (2009).
