Bobby Moore and The Rhythm Aces were an American soul group from Montgomery, Alabama. The band was led by Robert "Bobby" Moore, a tenor saxophonist and bandleader born on July 17, 1930, in New Orleans, Louisiana. While stationed at Fort Benning in Georgia during his time in the US Army, Moore formed the initial lineup of The Rhythm Aces with members of the Fort Benning marching band. They toured the South playing military events and clubs for a few years before relocating to Montgomery after Moore's demobilization in 1961. In late 1965, Bobby Moore and The Rhythm Aces recorded "Searching For My Love" at FAME Studios in Muscle Shoals, Alabama. This song, written by Moore, was released on the Checker label and reached number 27 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart and number 7 on the R&B chart in 1966, selling over 1 million copies. The group's subsequent singles "Try My Love Again" and "Chained to Your Heart" also gained chart success. In 1969, Checker released their last single, "Your Love and My Love Together", after which the label dropped the group. Despite this, Bobby Moore and The Rhythm Aces continued performing in Alabama with a shifting lineup into the 2000s. Bobby Moore passed away from kidney failure on February 1, 2006, in Montgomery, Alabama, leaving his son Larry Moore to lead the group. Their notable albums include Searching for My Love (1966) and Dedication of Love (1976).
