Bendik Brænne, born on August 17, 1987, in Bærum, Norway, is a producer, artist, and musician. He started writing songs in the basement of his childhood home with his older brother Mattis Brænne Wigestrand. Brænne's debut album, How to Fake It in America, was released in March 2013 and won the Spellemannsprisen for best country album that year. Later that year, he released the EP "Aloha from Torshov." His subsequent releases include Do You Know Who I Think I Am (2014), which received a Spellemannsprisen nomination, and The Last Great Country Swindle (2017), featuring Canadian artist Daniel Romano and members of Los Plantronics, which also won the Spellemannsprisen for best country album. Brænne's 2018 album Benedictionary was a solo effort, written, produced, recorded, played, and designed entirely by him.
