Ilan Chester, born Ilan Czenstochowski on July 30, 1952, in Jaffa, Tel Aviv, Israel, is a Venezuelan musician, singer, songwriter, and record producer. He emigrated to Venezuela in 1953. Chester's early musical influences included Jewish, French, and Italian melodies from home, as well as American R&B and British rock. His music incorporated elements of classical music, jazz, Caribbean, and Venezuelan folk. He began his music career as a member of various bands, including Trams, Way, and Melao. Notable solo albums include Al pie de la letra (1987) and Ilan en vivo (1988). Chester gained international recognition with the platinum-selling album Corazón Navideño (2001). In 2017, he was awarded a Latin Grammy for his contributions to music.
