Adam Falckenhagen, born on April 26, 1697, in Großdalzig near Leipzig, Germany, was a German composer and lutenist. At age nine, he began his musical education under Gottlob Erlemann, focusing on the lute and clavichord. Around 1715, he secured a position as a musician at the court in Merseburg. While serving at the Weißenfels court, he married singer Johanna Ämilia Kegel, and they had two daughters, the first of whom was born in 1724. In 1732, Falckenhagen and his family moved to Bayreuth, where he served at the court of Georg Friedrich Karl. His work included chamber music and solo pieces for lute, such as Six Sonatas, op. 1 and Sonate di liuto solo, opera prima, originally published circa 1740. He died on October 6, 1754, in Bayreuth.
