Nicole Lizée, born April 7, 1973, in Gravelbourg, Saskatchewan, is a Canadian composer known for her work in contemporary music. She earned a Master of Music from McGill University and was part of The Besnard Lakes indie rock band. In 2008, her composition, "This Will Not Be Televised", placed in the International Rostrum of Composers' Top 10 Works. Lizée has composed for ensembles like the Kronos Quartet and the San Francisco Symphony, with performances at venues including Carnegie Hall. Notable awards include the Jules Léger Prize for New Chamber Music in 20,13 and a Juno Award for Classical Composition of the Year in 2024.
