Éva Keleti, born on May 11, 1922, in Hungary, was a singer known professionally as Eve Boswell. Born to musician parents, she studied piano and joined her family's touring act. During World War II, they moved to South Africa with the Boswell Circus. In 1949, bandleader Geraldo brought her to Britain for his BBC Radio band. Her first hit was "Sugar Bush" in 1952. She launched a solo career and achieved major chart success with "Pickin' A-Chicken" in early 1956, reaching Number 9 on the UK Singles Chart. Boswell's debut LP, Sugar and Spice, featured songs in nine languages. Throughout the 1950s and 1960s, she continued with radio, TV work, and tours. She opened her own singing studio, “Studio 9,” in London in 1974. Boswell passed away on August 14, 1998.
