Takeshi Nishimoto is a Japanese musician. Raised in New York City, he took piano lessons for a few years before playing the electric guitar at age 13. After moving to Los Angeles, Nishimoto studied music at the University of Southern California (USC). In 1998, he formed the electronic music project I’m Not a Gun with John Tejada, releasing their debut album Everything At Once in 2003 on City Centre Offices (CCO). Nishimoto's solo career started with Monologue in 2007. He released albums under both his solo name and I’m Not a Gun, including Lavandula (2013).
