Mar Orfila is a Spanish singer and director born on 19 March 1977 in Barcelona. Known professionally as Mürfila, she began performing at age 14 and led the group Örn during the 1990s. After winning the Salamadra contest, the ensemble recorded with Al.leluia Records. Orfila began a solo career in 2003 and released her debut studio recording, Vamos a hacer pupita, in 2004 through Sony Music. The album reached number 17 on the AFYVE sales chart and earned a gold certification following the success of the recording “Loko”. She released the album Miss Líos in 2007 through Mitik Records. Orfila directed the film Postales desde el mar (2003), which received the award for Best Short Film from the College of Directors of Catalonia. She produced the web series I Love Ü in 2010 and released an eponymous album. Her later discography included 9 Balas (2012) and Terrífica (2014).
