The Fighters were an American pop-punk band from Chicago, formed in 1993 by Jason Mojica, Paul Koob, Mike McKee, and Don Shrader. Their first release was the EP Give 'em the Business (1993), which received a positive review from Maximum Rocknroll founder Tim Yohannan. The band embraced the DIY ethic, recording and releasing records on Mojica's Rocco Records label and booking their own tours. In 1994, they released their second EP, Breaking Bones for Laughs, and toured extensively across the U.S. Their final performance was a sold-out farewell show at The Fireside Bowl in May 1995. After disbanding, members pursued various careers; Mojica became a journalist and filmmaker, while Koob joined indie rock band Joan of Arc before becoming a graphic designer.
