Diana Doherty, born in Brisbane, Australia, is a notable oboist. She studied at Brisbane State High School, the Queensland Conservatorium of Music, and the Victorian College of the Arts in Melbourne. In 1985, she won a prize in the ABC Symphony Australia Young Performers Awards. Doherty performed internationally at festivals such as the Prague Spring Festival and the MusicaRiva festival in Italy. She was Principal Oboe with the Lucerne Symphony Orchestra from 1990 to 1997 before joining the Sydney Symphony Orchestra in July 1997. Doherty premiered Ross Edwards' Oboe Concerto in 2002, which she also performed with the New York Philharmonic in 2005. Notable albums include Souvenirs - Sublime Music for the Oboe (2003) and Nigel Westlake: Spirit of the Wild/Steve Reich: The Desert Music (2019).
