Jung-Ho Pak is an American symphony conductor born on February 4, 1962, in Burlingame, California. He began piano studies at age 6 and clarinet at age 11, performing in various ensembles through college. Early in his career, Pak served as a professor at the University of California, Berkeley and Lehigh University. In 1988, he won a national conducting competition with the Young Musicians Foundation's Debut Orchestra. Pak served as the music director of the San Diego Symphony from 1997 to 2006. During his tenure, the orchestra received a 110 million dollar endowment pledge. He held concurrent music director positions with the University of Southern California Symphony and the San Francisco Conservatory of Music Orchestra. Pak was the music director of the New Haven Symphony Orchestra from 1999 until 2007. Between 2007 and 2023, he served as the artistic director and conductor of the Cape Symphony. Pak became the music director of the World Youth Symphony Orchestra in 2003.
