Stefan Veselka is a Norwegian-Czech pianist and conductor born in 1968 in Stavanger. He studied piano at the Mozarteum and the Hochschule der Künste in Berlin before receiving conducting instruction from Kazushi Ōno. Veselka performed as a soloist and chamber musician in Europe, Japan, and the United States. His discography included the complete piano works of Dvořák (2004), for which he received the Classical Internet Award. He served as the first Kapellmeister at Theater Münster between 2014 and 2021. In 2015, he made his French debut at Opera Dijon with the production Katja Kabanova, followed by Jenufa in 2018. Veselka was appointed Professor at the Hochschule für Künste Bremen in 2021 and became Generalmusikdirektor at Theater Regensburg in 2023. He debuted at the Norwegian National Opera during the 2022/2023 season.
