Luna Amară, a Romanian alternative rock/grunge band, was formed in Cluj-Napoca, Transylvania, by Nick Făgădar and Gheorghe Farcaș in September 1999 under the name Tanagra Noise. The group adopted their current name, Luna Amară (meaning "Bitter Moon"), in 2000. Their debut album Asfalt was released in 2004, followed by Loc Lipsă in 2006. In 2008, they released Don't Let Your Dreams Fall Asleep, which included nine English-language tracks and three Romanian songs. The band's music often carried political messages and they were involved in various ecological and civic projects. Luna Amară achieved significant commercial success with several of their songs topping local and national radio charts, including "Folclor", "Gri Dorian", and "Roșu aprins". In 2014, they released the live album Live la Conti.
