Noel Edison is a Canadian conductor born on November 16, 1958, in Toronto. He graduated from Wilfrid Laurier University in 1985 and studied piano with Victor Martins. Edison received conducting instruction from Robert Shaw, Helmuth Rilling, and Sir David Willcocks. In 1997, he was appointed conductor of the Toronto Mendelssohn Choir. He received an honorary Doctor of Music from the University of Guelph in 2002 and became a member of the Order of Ontario in 2009. His recordings included the studio albums Arvo Pärt: Musique chorale (2006) and Le Mystère de Noël (2006). In 2018, Edison was relieved of his leadership duties at the Toronto Mendelssohn Choir and the Elora Singers following an investigation into allegations of sexual misconduct. He launched a new professional choral ensemble, The Edison Singers, in 2019.
