Carson Pierce Cooman, born on June 12, 1982 in Rochester, New York, is an American composer and organist. Introduced to music by his grandmother, a graduate of the Eastman School of Music, Cooman began taking piano and organ lessons at an early age and started composing at eight years old. He attended Allendale Columbia School, Harvard University for a Bachelor of Arts, and Carnegie Mellon University for a Master of Music. Cooman's compositions have been recorded for various labels, including Naxos Records, Convivium Records, Albany Records, Métier Records, Divine Art Records, Gothic Records, and Artek Recordings. His notable works include Sacred Choral Music (2008) and As We Are Changed (2021). He has also written for the music publication Fanfare.
