Alexander Peskanov, born in Odesa, Ukraine, is a Ukrainian-American concert pianist and composer. He studied at the Stoliarsky School of Music before emigrating to the United States in 1973. Peskanov attended the Juilliard School of Music and made his solo debut with Mstislav Rostropovich and the National Symphony. Peskanov founded Piano Olympics in 1991 and authored The Russian Technical Regimen for the Piano. He has written over 20 piano concertos, including works selected by the National Federation of Music Clubs. Notable performances include premieres at Carnegie Hall and collaborations with artists like Maurice Andre and Yo-Yo Ma. Throughout his career, he has also performed with orchestras including the London Symphony Orchestra and the Hong Kong Philharmonic, as well as at festivals such as Wolf Trap and Aspen.
