Débora Halász, born in São Paulo, is a classical pianist and harpsichordist based in Germany. She studied at the Magdalena Tagliaferro Academy in São Paulo under Beatriz Balzi and Myrian Dauelsberg. Halasz made her debut with the São Paulo State Symphony Orchestra at age 15 and was awarded the Critics' Prize (APCA) for Best Soloist of the Year in 1988, performing Rachmaninoff's third piano concerto. She has performed globally in Europe, South America, and North America, both as a solo artist and as part of Duo Halász, which she founded with her husband Franz Halasz in 1993. Her discography included recordings for BIS and Naxos labels, notably the complete series of Carlos Seixas' harsipchord music and complete piano music by Villa-Lobos.
