Keshia Chanté Harper, known professionally as Keshia Chanté, and born on June 16, 1988, in Ottawa, Canada, is a singer-songwriter who began her career at the age of 14 when she signed with BMG Music Canada. Her debut EP, Unpredictable, was released in 2002. In 2004, Keshia Chanté released her self-titled debut album, which included notable singles like "Been Gone" and "Set U Free". Her second album, 2U, was released in 2006 and featured the single "Ring the Alarm", which supported WarChild's Keep the Beat charity campaign. After a brief hiatus, Keshia Chanté returned with the album Night & Day in 2011, featuring singles like "Table Dancer" and "Test Drive". Throughout her career, she has won several awards, including a Canadian Urban Music Award for Best New Artist in 2004 and a Juno Award for R&B/Soul Recording of the Year in 2005.
