Mamadee Wappler, born 12 September 1979 in Altrottmannsdorf, Germany, is a German reggae singer. Raised in a family of five with a Sierra Leonean father and a German mother, she began piano lessons at five and moved to Cologne in 1999 to pursue a singing career. Her early work included background vocals for Pauls Club and later membership in the female ensemble Sisters Keepers in 2000, where she contributed to the 2001 release Lightkultur. Mamadee’s breakthrough came with the 2005 EP Lass Los, released by Bushhouse Records, which reached Number 79 on the German charts. She collaborated extensively with Gentleman, touring Germany from 2002 to 2012 and contributing the duet "Good Days" with Tamika to the live album Gentleman & The Far East Band Live. In 2010 she released the mixtape Who I Am, followed by Africa Is Calling in 2011. Her first solo album, Beautiful Soul, arrived in 2013, recorded in Miami and produced by Conrad Glaze. Mamadee has also appeared in the 2007 documentary Yes I Am and has worked as a social pedagogue, advocating against discrimination.
