The Kungsbacka Piano Trio, a Swedish musical trio, was founded in 1997 and named after the town of Kungsbacka. The trio consisted of Jesper Svedberg on cello, Simon Crawford-Phillips on piano, and Malin Broman on violin. Their breakthrough came with winning the first prize at the Melbourne International Chamber Music Competition in 1999. The ensemble has released several albums, including Haydn : Trios Avec Piano (volume 1) (2011), Trios Avec Piano (volume 2) (2012), and Trios Pour Piano (volume 3) (2012). They have performed at numerous festivals across Europe, North and South America, and Australia. The trio has recorded works by composers such as Schubert, Schumann, Haydn, Mozart, and Rehnqvist for labels Naxos and Bis.
