Ohrbooten, a German reggae and alternative hip-hop group from Berlin, was formed in 2003. The band's early members included Ben Pavlidis and Matze Jechlitschka, who had previously performed as street musicians under the name Debaska. Ohrbooten gained initial recognition when their demos were noticed by Die Toten Hosen, leading to a signing in 2005. Their debut album Spieltrieb was released that same year on JKP. The group's subsequent albums included Babylon bei Boot (2007), Gyp Hop (2009), and Alles für alle bis alles alle ist (2013). Ohrbooten performed at major festivals such as Rock im Park, Hurricane Festival, and Summerjam. In 2008, they became patrons of the anti-racism project Schule ohne Rassismus – Schule mit Courage. Their final album Tanz mal drüber nach was released in 2015. Ohrbooten announced a hiatus in April 2017 and gave their last concert on December 21, 2017.
