Joana Serrat, born in Vic, Spain, in 1983, is a Spanish singer-songwriter known for her folk music. Her career began with the self-released album The Relief Sessions in February 2012, which earned her recognition as Artist of the Week on Nashville's Noisetrade website. Serrat's second album, Dear Great Canyon, released in February 2014 through El Segell del Primavera, was produced by Howard Bilerman and featured collaborations with notable musicians such as Neil Halstead and Gavin Gardiner. The album entered Spain's top-selling charts and received international airplay on BBC6 and ABC Radio National Australia. She also won the Mejor Album Nacional del Año and the Premio de la Crítica al Mejor Álbum Catalán del Año en Otras Lenguas from Enderrock. Serrat continued to release albums, including Cross the Verge in May 2016, Dripping Springs in September 2017, and Hardcore From The Heart in June 2021.
