Patrizia Gattaceca is a Corsican singer, writer, and actress born on October 7, 1957, in Penta-Acquatella. She began her musical career in 1976 with the release of the track “Tribbiera”. In 1977, she established the duo E duie Patrizie with Patrizia Poli and released the studio recording Scuprendu l'alba Corsa (1978). Gattaceca formed the ensemble Ottobre in 1980, which released the eponymous recording Ottobre in 1988. In 1990, she co-founded Les Nouvelles Polyphonies Corses, which received a Victoire de la Musique in 1992 for its first studio recording. The ensemble performed the track “Giramondu” at the opening ceremony of the 1992 Winter Olympics in Albertville. Gattaceca initiated a solo career in 2005 with the album Di Filetta è d'amore. Her later discography included the recordings Passagera (2015), Terra Nostra (2018), and Carmini (2019). In 2025, she released the album U Cantu di i canti. She authored seven poetry collections including Arcubalenu (1997). In 2010, she received a suspended sentence for assisting her friend, the fugitive Yvan Colonna.
