Archie Edwards (September 4, 1918 – June 18, 1998) was an American blues guitarist and singer, born in Union Hall, Virginia. He began playing guitar at a young age, influenced by his father's banjo and guitar skills. In the early 1930s, he started performing with his brothers. Edwards' career took a significant turn in 1978 when Axel Küstner invited him to tour Europe as part of the American Folk Blues Festival. This led to the release of his first album, Living Country Blues USA Vol. 6 Archie Edwards: The Road Is Rough And Rocky, in 1982. He formed a group with Eleanor Ellis and Flora Molton, touring extensively across North America and Europe. Notable collaborations include performances with Mississippi John Hurt and Skip James. Edwards passed away on June 18, 1998, in Seat Pleasant, Maryland.
