Ensemble Gilles Binchois is a French musical group founded in 1979 by director Dominique Vellard. They specialize in medieval and Renaissance music. Their repertoire spans both religious and secular works, from early Gregorian chants to the late 15th century (including Guillaume de Machaut and the School of Notre-Dame). Their first album, Francisco de Peñalosa: Missa n'a Jamais été peine majeure, was released in 1981. Over the years, Ensemble Gilles Binchois has explored a wide range of ancient music. Notable albums include Fontaine de grâce (1993), Le Jugement du Roi de Navarre (1994), and Seul m'ire. Chansonnier de Palacio (1996). The group has collaborated with vocalists such as Philippe Balloy and Emmanuel Bonnardot.
