Monsieur Lézard, also known as Tacot Loco, was born on November 15, 1969, in Sarlat-en-Dordogne, France. He is a French singer specializing in dancehall reggae and socially conscious lyrics. He began his career around 1989 in Montreuil-sous-Bois, collaborating with artists such as Azrock, Polino, Tonton David, DJ KZA, Sai Sai, and Daddy Nuttea. From 1990 to 1993, he joined the KNS sound system, touring across France, and in 1993 became part of Ghetto Youth Progress, recording two tracks for their compilation, including the notable “L’unification.” His debut album, Dans ce monde, was released in 1996 under SLR / Média 7 with Charles Aznavour as editor, but distribution issues ended its commercial release after two months. He returned to the underground scene in 2001 with the track “Si la musique est un crime.” In 2004, he contributed to the Bien Sobre Mal compilation and released his second album, Saltimbanque, largely self-produced. He later collaborated with Swiss group Akamassa and released the single “Mon pays est malade” in 2005. Throughout his career, Monsieur Lézard has toured in France, Spain, Belgium, Switzerland, Canada, and Chile, appeared on various compilations, and hosted the radio show French Connection on Reggae Vibes.
