Jacques Gallot, born around 1625 in France, was a lutenist and composer from a family of Parisian musicians. He studied under Ennemond Gaultier. Approximately 100 of his works are preserved, including pieces found in both printed collections and handwritten manuscripts. His compositions often featured titles referencing female figures or notable courtly individuals. One of his significant works is Pièces de luth composées sur différens mode, published around 1670-1682. His influence reached other artists, with Ottorino Respighi transcribing one of his pieces in 1927.
