Jordy van Loon, born on June 16, 1993, in Voorburg, Netherlands, is a Dutch child singer. At age 13, he gained national attention after winning a local radio contest and performing with his idol Frans Bauer. This exposure led to an appearance on the television show Mooi! Weer de Leeuw, where his impromptu performance of "Het Dorp" by Wim Sonneveld garnered significant interest from record labels. He subsequently signed with producer Jan Zwarteveen at JAZ Music. In 2008, van Loon released his debut single "Verliefdheid," which became a cultural phenomenon when it was chosen as the anthem for the annual Serious Request campaign by Dutch radio station 3FM. The song reached Number 1 in the Dutch Single Top 100 on January 17, 2009, and remained in the charts for 19 weeks.
