Karl Oskar Jularbo (1893–1966), born Karl Karlsson and known professionally as Calle Jularbo, was a Swedish folk and schlager accordionist and composer from Jularbo. He began his musical career at age five and won 158 accordion competitions between the ages of 16 and 23. Jularbo recorded 1,577 tunes, the highest number for a solo artist in Scandinavia, despite being unable to read music. In 1915, he recorded the song “Livet i Finnskogarna”, which provided the musical basis for the 1951 hit “Mockin' Bird Hill”. Jularbo, whose parents were of Romani descent, appeared in films including Kalle Karlsson från Jularbo (1952) and published the autobiography Med dragspelet i högsätet (1946). His recordings included Livet i finnskogarna / Hammarforsens brus (1930) and Jularbominnen 1944-1947 (1997). Jularbo died in Nacka on February 13, 1966. He was inducted into the Swedish Music Hall of Fame in 2017.
