Drew Lustman, known professionally as FaltyDL, was born in 1983 in New Haven, Connecticut, and is an electronic music composer and producer. He began his musical journey at age five, playing various instruments and eventually playing in a jazz quartet during his studies. Transitioning to music production, he adopted the pseudonym FaltyDL, released early EPs on different labels before gaining recognition with Love Is a Liability (2009) under Planet Mu. This album was followed by notable mixes for FACT and Resident Advisor, as well as collaborations including remixes for The xx and Sepalcure. In 2011, he released his second LP, You Stand Uncertain, inspired by the film Mean Streets. He founded Blueberry Records and signed with Ninja Tune, released Hardcourage (2013) and In the Wild (2014). The latter album was noted for its complexity and collaborative project with artist Chris Shen. Lustman also released music under various aliases, including Donna Chambray Loren and Drew Lustman himself.
