Yansımalar, a music group, was founded in 1990 by Birol Yayla and Aziz Şenol Filiz. The duo met at the conservatoire in 1980 and later joined the Turkish music chorus before forming Yansımalar, which translates to "reflections" in English. The group's music was primarily instrumental and has been praised for its ability to evoke personal and collective memories. Their debut album, Yansımalar, was released in 1991 under Kalan Müzik. In 1995, they released their second album, Bâb-ı Esrar. The group expanded with the addition of Engin Gürkey on percussions and Nezih Yeşilnil on double bass in 1996. Their fourth album, Serzeniş, was released in 2000, followed by Pervane in 2004, which featured collaborations with Erkan Oğur. Yansımalar also contributed to the soundtrack of the film The Last Ottoman: Yandim Ali (2007).
