Batmobile, a Dutch psychobilly band from Rotterdam and Breda, was formed in 1983 with Jeroen Haamers on vocals and guitar, Eric Haamers on bass, and Johnny Zuidhof on drums. Initially playing covers of early rockabilly and rock 'n' roll, Batmobile transitioned to a punk-infused psychobilly style. Their debut self-titled EP was released in 1985 on Rockhouse/Kix4U. The band's breakthrough came with their performance at the influential Klub Foot in London in 1986, making them the first non-UK band to play there. They subsequently released several albums, including Bambooland (1987), Buried Alive! (1988), and Amazons from Outer Space (1989). Batmobile went on hiatus in 1993 but returned for a Japan tour in 1995. The band continued performing sporadically and celebrated its 40th anniversary with the release of Brace for Impact in 2023.
