Zoe Rahman, born on January 20, 1971 in Chichester, West Sussex, England, is an English jazz composer and pianist. She began playing classical piano at age four and later developed an interest in jazz during her teenage years. Rahman studied at the Royal Academy of Music and earned a music degree from St Hugh's College, University of Oxford. In 2001, she released her debut album The Cynic. Her second album, Melting Pot, was released in July 2006 and won the Jazz Album of the Year award at the Parliamentary Jazz Awards in 2006. Rahman's subsequent albums include Kindred Spirits (January 2012), which won the Best Jazz Act award at the MOBO Awards, and Unison (July 2013). She has collaborated with various artists including Courtney Pine and Clark Tracey's New Quintet. Rahman has performed extensively throughout the UK and internationally, appearing at festivals such as the North Sea Jazz Festival.
