Time in Malta was an American hardcore punk band from San Francisco, California. Formed in 1997, the original members hail from Indianapolis, Indiana, which included Todd Gullion on lead vocals and bass, Sander Leech on drums, and Chris Lyon on guitar. After recording a demo at Toast Studios, they signed to Escape Artist Records and released their debut EP Construct And Demolish in 1999. In 2001, Ryan Downey joined as lead vocalist, with Gullion shifting to bass and backing vocals. The band's first full-length album, A Second Engine, was released in 2002 on Equal Vision Records. This period saw significant lineup changes, including the addition of drummer Eric Alexander and bassist Jesse Hayes. Time in Malta gained attention for their politically charged lyrics and toured extensively. Their final studio album, Alone with the Alone, was issued in 2004 before the band disbanded that same year.
