Karl "Charly" Brunner, known professionally as Charly Brunner, was born on February 28, 1955, in Graz, Austria. He is a singer and musician who began his musical journey at the age of 15 with his younger brother Johann. Initially performing as a cover band called Happy, they later gained fame as the Schlager duo Brunner & Brunner. After 38 years together, the duo disbanded in 2010 to pursue solo careers. Brunner released his first solo single, "Was immer du tust", in late 2011, followed by his debut album Ich glaub’ an die Liebe in February 2012, which reached the top 10 in Austria. He collaborated with Simone Stelzer, forming the duo Simone & Charly Brunner (also known as Brunner & Stelzer) and winning an Amadeus Award in the Schlager category in 2014.
