The Raymond Brake was an American indie rock band formed in Greensboro, North Carolina in 1994. Their sound blended unusual tunings with hooks and melody. The group released two 7-inch records in 1994 and their debut LP Piles of Dirty Winters in 1995 through Simple Machines. In 1996, they toured the U.S. with Karate, Archers of Loaf, and Liquorice, and released their final work, the Never Work Ever CD and EP on Hepcat Records. The Raymond Brake played their last show in 1998.
