Matteo Messori, born on April 23, 1976, in Bologna, Italy, is a harpsichordist known for his contributions to classical music. He studied piano, organ, composition, and musicology in his hometown. Messori's breakthrough came in 1998 when he won the first prize at the Gianni Gambi National Harpsichord Competition in Pesaro. He has performed extensively as a soloist on organs and harpsichords across Italy, Europe, and America. Messori's discography includes notable albums such as Vincenzo Albrici : Concerti sacri, Capella Augustana (2002) and Johann Sebastian Bach: Inventions and Symphonies (2012). He has also directed significant productions, including the first Italian staged performance of Händel's oratorio La Bellezza ravveduta nel Trionfo del Tempo e del Disinganno.
