Loulou Lamotte is a Swedish pop singer who has participated in Sweden's Melodifestivalen competition multiple times, both as a background and with the vocal group The Mamas. She was born as "Louise Lamotte" on April 16, 1981, in Malmö, Sweden. After appearing as a contestant on the fifth season of Swedish Idol in 2008, she began working as a backing singer for artists like Jens Lekman and Pauline Kamusewu. Alongside X factor contestant Oscar Zia and Swedish rapper Behrang Miri, she contributed her vocals to the 2013 single "Jalla Dansa Sawa," which the trio performed at Melodifestivalen 2013. Although "Jalla Dansa Sawa" failed to advance the group to the Eurovision Song Contest, it nonetheless became a hit in Sweden, reaching Number 4 on the Sverigetopplistan chart and quickly earning platinum status. Lamotte joined the Swedish-American vocal group The Mamas in 2019 and appeared on another Melodifestivalen entry, John Lundvik's "Too Late for Love," that same year. "Too Late for Love" won the competition, ultimately placed fifth in the Eurovision Song Contest 2019, and was certified double-platinum in Sweden, where it also topped the singles charts. One year later, The Mamas earned another Number 1 hit in Sweden with "Move," which won the Melodifestivalen contest in 2020. The Eurovision Song Contest was canceled that year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, thus preventing The Mamas from appearing in the competition for the second consecutive year. Nonetheless, Lamotte continued to record with The Mamas while also focusing on her solo career, which she resumed with the single "Jul med dig" — a Number 85 hit on Sverigetopplistan's Heatseeker chart — in 2022.
