MC Einar, a Danish rap group formed in 1987 in Sorgenfri near Copenhagen, consisted of DJs Nikolaj Peyk and Jan Kabré, rapper Einar Enemark, and human beatbox Jesper Wildmand. The group’s breakthrough came with the release of the Den Nye Stil album on 20 June 1988, marking the first Danish‑language rap album. In 1989, the single "Jul Det' Cool" achieved mainstream popularity, and the album Arh Dér! – released that same year –continued their chart presence. In 1994, the group released Og Såd'n Noget before disbanding in 1990 due to internal conflicts. MC Einar’s work is noted for its equilibristic rhymes and laid‑back style that contrasted with the dominant American rap of the time. Their pioneering releases contributed to the establishment of Danish rap, and the group remains a reference point in the early history of the genre.
