Keith Hampshire, born on November 23, 1945, in Dulwich, London, England, is a British singer. At the age of six, his family moved to Calgary, Canada, where he took singing lessons and formed several short-lived high-school bands. In 1967, he began working as a radio disc jockey for Radio Caroline South, hosting shows titled "Keefer's Commotions" and "Keefer's Uprising". His music career started in 1971 with the release of several pop music singles. She achieved significant success with his cover of "The First Cut Is the Deepest", which reached Number One on the RPM 100 national singles chart in May 1973 and earned him a nomination for Best Male Vocalist at the Juno Awards. He also hosted the CBC Television show Keith Hampshire's Music Machine from 1973 to 1982. Throughout his career, he released several albums, including The First Cut in 1973 and Variations in 1981. Notable singles include "Daytime Night-time", which reached Number 51 on the U.S. Hot 100, and "OK Blue Jays", an unofficial anthem for the Toronto Blue Jays Major League Baseball team. In addition to his music career, he has contributed voice work to various films and television shows, including Rock & Rule and The Care Bears Adventure in Wonderland.
