Koitaboch Musi was a world music group from Germany, founded in 1994 in the Werdenfelser Land region around Garmisch-Partenkirchen. The ensemble gained initial recognition through performances at significant events such as the Alpine Ski World Championships in 2011 and 2013, and the Olympic Games in London in 2012. Their international exposure increased with tours across over 20 countries and a notable appearance supporting Munich's bid for the 2018 Winter Olympics. Koitaboch Musi released their debut album Instrumentale Grüße Aus Werdenfels in 2004, followed by Boarisch...Und A Bisserl Leger in 2009 and Musikantenparadies in 2013. The group's repertoire included both traditional folk music and international songs reinterpreted with instruments like the diatonic harmonica, guitar, contrabass, trumpet, alphorn, cajón, drums, and accordion. In 2015, during a tour in the USA, contrabassist Michael Hechenrieder passed away unexpectedly.
