Vitor Mateus Teixeira, known professionally as Teixeirinha, was born on March 3, 1927, in Rolante, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. He started his music career singing on local radio stations and performing across the interior of Brazil. In 1959, he released a 78 rpm record featuring "Xote Soledade" and "Briga no Batizado". His breakthrough came with "Coração de Luto", which sold over one million copies in 1960, earning him the nickname "O Rei do Disco". He released albums such as 25 Anos de Sucesso (1984), and posthumous compilations including Dose Dupla (1995) and Gigantes (2000). He won several awards, including the Chico Viola trophy in 1962 and 1963. Throughout his career, he performed extensively across Brazil and internationally. Teixeirinha died on December 4, 1985.
