Original Tiroler Echo, a folk music group from Tyrol, Austria, was founded in 1978 under the leadership of Luis Plattner. The band's initial lineup included Gerhard Kometer as the only remaining original member after frequent changes over the years. Their first album, An Tanz mit dir, was released in 1988 through MCP Records. Original Tiroler Echo gained significant popularity with hits such as "Sterne am Himmel" and "Maria Magdalena", both written by Felix Eduard Strasser. The group appeared on various television shows, including those hosted by Karl Moik and Melodien der Berge. In 1996, they began touring as the backing band for Hansi Hinterseer. Their album Ein Gruß aus den Bergen also reached number 20 in the Austrian charts in March 2018, staying there for five weeks. The group celebrated their 40th anniversary with two concerts in Thaur in 2018.
