Hyjak N Torcha, an Australian hip hop group from Sydney, formed in 2000, consisting of Hyjak (Jack McCarthy), Torcha (John Chmielewski), and DJ Bonez (George Kordas). Hyjak first gained attention in 1998 at the age of 15 when he won a rap battle at a pub in Kings Cross, Sydney. They signed to Obese Records and released their debut album Drastik Measures in 2004. The single "Sneak" from this album received airplay on Triple J and its video clip was played on Rage. In 2006, they won the award for Best New Filmmaker at the BelowGround Music Video Fest Awards for their video "A Night with Chopper", featuring Mark Brandon "Chopper" Read. The group released their second album Unregrettable in 2009.
