Angeliki "Antzy" Samiou, born on March 7, 1960, in Piraeus, Greece, is a Greek modern laïka singer and radio producer. From a young age, Samiou aspired to be a singer and began her professional career in the late '80s, performing in show centers and clubs. In 1990, she wrote lyrics for Dimitris Mitropanos' song "Esi Lege Me Erota". Her debut album, Tο Αδύνατο Σημείο Μου, was released on her birthday in 1993, marking her breakthrough with the hit title track. In 1995, her second studio album, Η Πιο Γλυκεία Μου Αμαρτία, was released, followed by Του Έρωτα Η Μηχανή in 1996, which featured "Μη Φεύγεις Απόψε", voted best ballad of the year at the Pop Corn Music Awards. In 1997, Samiou released Χάος, coinciding with a gothic stylistic shift, and wrote many of the songs herself. Her sixth album Δίδυμη Ψυχή (1999) became her first gold-certified album.
