Vegan Reich is an American hardcore punk band from Laguna Beach, California, fronted by Sean Muttaqi. The group is recognized as one of the earliest straight edge vegetarian bands and pioneers of the hardline movement. Vegan Reich began their career with a few songs recorded for a charity sampler benefiting the Animal Liberation Front. In 1990, they released their debut EP Hardline, which served as a manifesto for animal rights and extreme straight edge living. The band's lineup included Sean Muttaqi on vocals and guitar, Dom Ehling on bass, and Ray Titus on drums. Their second release, the cassette The Wrath of God, followed in 1992. After a hiatus, Vegan Reich released their best-of album Vanguard in 1995. The band released the maxi-single Jihad in 1999, featuring Muttaqi on guitar, bass, and vocals with Andy Hurley on drums.
