Ivan Ženatý, born February 2, 1962 in Lomnice nad Popelkou, Czech Republic, is a violinist and music educator. He began his career by participating in the finale of the International Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow and won first prize at the Prague Spring Competition. Ženatý's debut with the Czech Philharmonic under Libor Pešek marked a significant milestone. He earned the title of laureate at the UNESCO International Rostrum of Young Performers in 1989. Throughout his career, he has performed with notable orchestras such as the BBC Symphony Orchestra and the Berliner Symphoniker, and collaborated with prominent musicians including Yehudi Menuhin and Yo-Yo Ma. Ženatý's discography included albums like Foerster: Violin Concertos (1996) and Concertos Pour Violon (2012). He has recorded the complete violin works of composers such as Telemann, Bach, Mendelssohn, Schumann, Schulhoff, Dvořák, and Grieg.
