The Golden Kids are a vocal trio formed in Prague on 1 November 1968 by Helena Vondráčková, Marta Kubišová and Václav Neckář, who met in 1965 at the Rokoko-Theatre. Their debut concert at the Lucerna hall in November 1968 launched their career, and they released the 1969 album Micro-Magic-Circus, blending original ballads with international covers and supported by the Golden Kids Orchestra. In 1970 they issued the album Golden Kids and premiered Music Box No. 2, but the trio dissolved after Marta Kubišová was barred from performing following her song “Modlitba pro Martu”, a symbol of resistance to the Prague Spring crackdown. The group’s existence left a mark on popular music, and recordings remain celebrated for melodic quality and political resonance.
