Maria Jolina Perez Magdangal, born on November 6, 1978 in Quezon City, Philippines, is a singer and actress. At age 11, she began her career as part of the singing group 14-K under Ryan Cayabyab. In 1992, Magdangal was discovered by talent manager Johnny Manahan and made her television debut on Ang TV. Her first album, A Wish Comes True, was released in 1996 under Walt Disney Records. She went on to release several albums including Jolina (1998), On Memory Lane (2000), and Red Alert (2001). Magdangal's albums Jolina and On Memory Lane ranked among the best-selling in Philippine history. She has received numerous accolades, including two FAMAS Awards, seven Box Office Entertainment Awards, an MTV Pilipinas Music Award, and a commendation from the Asian Television Award.
